New Ferry Route Connects Pasir Gudang, Malaysia to Batam, Indonesia Starting December 17, 2025”
Batam-(RempangPos.Com)– A new ferry service linking Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal in Malaysia with Nongsapura Ferry Terminal in Batam, Indonesia, is set to launch on December 17, 2025, with a trial period running until January 4, 2026.
According to Mr. Tuah, spokesperson for the Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal, the service will operate twice daily during the trial phase. The first trip departs Pasir Gudang at 10:30 AM Malaysia time, arriving in Batam at 10:45 AM local time, while the second departs at 1:30 PM, returning at 3:00 PM. The estimated travel time is around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Round-trip tickets are priced at RM185 per passenger and are available both online and at the terminal. Notably, tickets can also be used for return trips from other Batam terminals, such as Batam Center or Harbor Bay.
Mr. Tuah added that the continuation of the route will depend on the results of the trial period. “If operations during December go smoothly, we plan to extend the service for six months starting January 2026,” he said, urging residents of Batam and Johor to support the new route.
